Sleep Apnea Treatment
Are you tired of wearing your CPAP? Restless? Claustrophobic? Embarrassed? We can help.
If you are like many people who have been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), you may use (or been told to use) a CPAP machine. While it can be an effective form of treatment for some, others find that they simply can’t sleep with it. They may get claustrophobic and take it off during the night or simply refuse to wear it because it makes them feel uncomfortable.
If that describes you and you have been diagnosed with mild or moderate OSA, we offer an alternative treatment with a mandibular advancement device. It is a custom-made, discreet oral appliance that you wear while you sleep. For over five years, our highly-trained and experienced dentists have used oral appliances to help our patients finally sleep well again.
How it works
When someone is diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, their airway collapses or becomes blocked during sleep. This can cause snoring, shallow breathing or dangerous pauses in breathing. The CPAP, which stands for continuous positive airway pressure, provides a constant flow of pressurized air to keep the airway open during sleep.
In contrast, a mandibular advancement device works by holding the lower jaw in a more forward position to prevent the airway from being obstructed. It is custom-made to fit on both the upper and lower teeth, discreet and easily removable. Patients also love how much easier it is to travel with. Call 303-791-2570 to schedule a free consultation.
